Construction

The sock is knitted in a top-down construction. Working on the 2x2 ribbed cuff, moving on to the leg,

The heel is worked back and forth in rows to make the heel flap, this is then shaped with short rows to ‘turn’ the heel with decreases at either side of the heel flap. Stitches are picked up to shape and make the gusset, working on decreasing which leads into the foot.

The foot is worked in the round to the toe shaping. Which is made by decreasing at the sides. Then is closed using the Kitchener stitch.
